New C4L Classes
From May 2022 to the present, Communities for Life has added seven new programs for sustainable initiatives in Manchay, Peru! Thanks to our partners and supporters like you, we offer courses to local Peruvians to provide individuals with skills to live self-sustainable lives. In 2022, we added four construction trades: electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and steel studs/drywall. The intention was to give construction program students hands-on skills to obtain jobs in their local community. This year, we have provided these students with the hands-on experience of using their construction skills as we build our first model home.
Over the last several months, we have also added an ESL program, a youth development program, and, most recently, a barber program. In addition to these seven new programs, we are still running very popular gardening and bakery programs. We are honoured and excited to see locals grow their skill sets to find employment and provide for their families.
