2024 Golf Tournament Recap

Thank you to all the golfers and volunteers who joined us this year for our fourth annual Communities for Life Golf Tournament! This year’s event was a huge success.

The 2024 tournament brought together 128 golfers and 27 sponsors. Golfers enjoyed playing a great round while learning about our work in Manchay, Peru.

Together with our partners—TeamUp and the Okotoks Food Bank—we raised funds for various initiatives in Calgary and Peru.

2024 Goal

Our programs are designed to create hope and opportunity by training and equipping locals to become self-sustainable physically, emotionally, and spiritually. Over 50,000 young people face malnourishment, inadequate housing, health issues, and terror from mafia-affiliated land traffickers. On average, three children die before the age of five.

Last year's golf tournament raised enough funds to begin a fresh-water initiative by turning fog into irrigation water, a scarce commodity in the deserts surrounding Manchay. Previously, we successfully funded our home build initiative, providing needy families with sturdy homes and supplying construction and trades jobs to locals.

This year, we aim to transform lives by empowering individuals through training and skill development. We provide opportunities for people to gain valuable, marketable skills that will enable them to support themselves and their families. Watch the video for more information on our 2024 goal.

We are thankful to our attendees for the funds already raised and ask that you consider supporting us with our 2024 goal:

  • 875 Graduates: We aim to sponsor 875 students through these programs, giving them the skills and opportunities they need for a brighter future. Sponsor a student today.
