This Giving Tuesday, your generous donations can help support sustainable community development in Manchay, Peru!
With your generous donations from last year, we added a third floor to the education wing of the Life Resource Center. The building is used by 17 teachers to educate 180 students in first through sixth grades.
In May 2022, we launched four trade training courses needed to construct a basic, low-cost home. The four courses include electrical, drywall and steel framing, melamine and carpentry, and plumbing. Because of you, we are teaching and equipping young people with sustainable opportunities.
In 2023, we will be training and equipping our trades students with the skills needed to build a basic shelter home in the squatter village of Manchay. Our goal is to supply the materials needed to build a home as part of the practicum of the trades courses. The material budget for the four trades needed to build just one home is $4,000 CDN.
Providing homes for individuals in this community is a very important part of creating long-term self-sustainability. This Giving Tuesday, we are asking you to consider a special gift of any amount to help us purchase these materials.
Giving Tuesday is the perfect opportunity to have your donation make a physical, tangible change. By signing up for our newsletter, you will be able to track the effectiveness of your donation as it manifests.
