2023 Year in Review
New Classes
This year, we added three new classes at The Life Resource Center - barbering, youth development, and ESL. By the end of 2023, two classes of barbering and ESL students have graduated, and we continue to build into the lives of children in Manchay.
Fog Catcher Initiative
The newest sustainable initiative in Manchay is an innovative fog catcher that turns fog into drinking water. Learn more about this project and how to help.
Model Home Completion
Throughout 2023, our trades students and other locals worked hard to build our first-ever model home! Individuals from our electrical, drywall and steel framing, melamine and carpentry, and plumbing courses applied their learned skills to building the home. Read more.
Trip to Manchay
After nearly three years away, Communities for Life members and supporters traveled to Manchay to connect with our local leadership team, Julio and Rocio. We look forward to more trips soon!
Third Annual Golf Tournament
C4L hosted its third annual, sold-out golf tournament with 144 golfers and 37 sponsors at Carnmoney Golf and Country Club in Calgary. Thank you so much to all who made this incredible day happen! Graduations
Nearly one hundred individuals have graduated from a course hosted at The Life Resource Center in 2023. This year, we celebrated with graduates from baking, gardening, barbering, ESL, electrical, drywall, carpentry, and plumbing classes. We also had some of the highest enrollments ever for baking and gardening courses. It is incredibly rewarding to know that lives are being transformed and people have received transferable skills to help give them opportunities for jobs.
